Projects: 33/35 Manor Way, Beckenham

Preparation and submission of an application for planning permission and conservation area consent to provide for the demolition of the existing garage and greenhouse and the erection of a part single, part two storey four bedroom detached house. Over a period of 22 months, the application has painstakingly been prepared and this period has included a significant level of consultation with neighbouring residents, Bromley Borough Council and the local resident's association. The scheme provides for the erection of a discreet, environmentally sustainable dwelling which is of a contemporary design, but which has arts and crafts references. Moreover, the proposal ensures the retention of all of the trees on the site with the exception of some scrub trees towards the rear of the proposed house. The Council refused planning permission for the proposed development. An appeal was submitted against this decision, which was successful. Full planning permission was granted in March 2010.The plans were prepared by Mr Robin Mallalieu of Brady Mallalieu Architects (www.bradymallalieu.com).
