Jo graduated from London University in 1983 and completed her Postgraduate Batchelor of Town Planning at South Bank in 1986. She has been a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since 2004.

Jo has eighteen years experience in Planning, five years of which were spent in Local Government. She took a career break from Planning in the 1990’s and set up and managed a very successful retail business for fifteen years. Jo joined Robinson Escott Planning in 2004 and is now a Partner.

Jo has wide ranging experience in both development management and planning policy. She has particular expertise in relation to agricultural and rural matters and also handling large scale affordable housing projects. Her expertise also includes dealing with:

  • Green Belt cases including residential development and rural diversification.
  • All forms of residential development.
  • Retail, office and small business unit schemes.
  • Representations relating to emerging planning policy.
  • Assessing and promoting sites through the LDF process.
  • Enforcement and lawful use cases.

Jo has a wide ranging client base which includes major national house builders a number of affordable housing providers as well as clients covering all sectors of the development industry.

She has experience in instructing Counsel, appearing as expert witness at Local Inquiries and presenting cases at appeal Hearings.
